Eagles Interested in QB Matt Scott

Arizona QB Matt Scott had his Pro Day today out in Tucson.  The Eagles were not in attendance.  Don’t let that fool you.  Per Daniel Berk of the Arizona Daily Star:

“Matt Scott seemed pleased with his pro day workout. Flies to Philly on Mon and will work out for Eagles later this month. ”

“Scott said he is hearing mostly from Eagles, Chargers, Cardinals, Bills and a few others.”

This makes total sense.  Scott is an athletic QB and would be much like the QBs that Kelly had in Oregon.  He’s also good value.  Scott won’t go early, although Tony Pauline reported that after a great showing at his Pro Day, Scott could go as early as the 3rd round.  Most people had Scott pegged as a late round target.  I recently did a mock draft where he fell to the Eagles in the 6th round.  Oops.

As long as its a mid or late round pick, I’m okay with drafting any qb this year to add to the competition. I have serious doubts Vick will be on the roster at the end of training camp. I’m just not sure he will be able to run the read option.

I like the quickness with which he gets the ball out.

My master draft plan is falling into place that I mentioned a few weeks back. Lane Johnson Matt Elam Matt Scott and dj swearinger are my first 4 picks! Let the bashing begin!

I’d rather them not waste any picks on QB this year and do everything possible topickthe right guy in the first round next year. 2014 class could be pretty damn good
