This meshes with what I wrote earlier…that Butler would replace Phillip Hunt more than challenge the top guys for their role.
If he signs, would you end up keeping all 5 guys (Barwin, Graham, Cole, Curry, and Butler) active? Keeping in mind of course that some of the backups would’ve expected to play STs?
I think so. The defense should see more playing time than in previous years because the offense is likely going to play at a faster pace under Kelly. I think they’re going to use a heavy rotation with their front seven to keep everyone fresh. Add STs into the equation and I think all 5 players would see playing time each game.
