Update on Oregon Safety

Oregon Safety John Boyett missed almost all of his Senior season due to injury.  Aaron Wilson provides an update on his situation.

Boyett is 5-10, 204.  If healthy, he could be a target in rounds 4-6.  With his situation, he’ll either be a late pick or priority FA.  Chip Kelly might give the Eagles the inside track on signing him if he does go unpicked.

As a lifetime Eagles fan and Oregon Duck alum, I’ll tell you that JB has some serious intangibles. Assuming he can stay healthy, he’s one of those guys that will stick for a very long time. The kid is an absolute “gym rat” and has a knack for the big play. I can see him being an absolute nightmare on special teams and an emotional leader both on and off the field. I can’t imagine he won’t be drafted given the results of his pro day, but if he isn’t I’d say the Eagles (along with the 49ers) have a very good chance to land him as an UDFA. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles haven’t given him a draftable grade given Chip’s inside scoop. He’s a steal in the late rounds.
