Earl Wolff Wants to Play

Safety is a position that is very much up in the air. Patrick Chung is expected to be the starting SS. The Eagles are excited to see what he can do.

FS is a mystery. Nate Allen and Kenny Phillips are battling for the job. Rookie Earl Wolff has gotten some reps with the starters and will get a chance to show what he can do this summer. He would love to be a starter.  Sheil Kapadia has the story.

“When you’re first learning, you like to lock in: Ok, I’m down [in the box] right now,” Wolff explained. “Then you see a motion or shift, you’re like, ‘Oh man.’ At first, it was tricky. But now I kind of know what to adjust to in certain situations. As fast as we do it, all it’s going to do is help me. It’s going to help me in the games because our offense is fast and does a lot of motions and shifts. I feel like in the game, it’s going to come easy.”

The Eagles have started rookies at Safety before. NFL teams don’t prefer doing that, but if Wolff wins the job, they’ll put him out there. Chip Kelly wants the best players on the field.
