Les Bowen says the Eagles have already called to inquire about Winston, who was the starting RT for the Chiefs last year.
Word is, the Eagles were one of the first two teams to reach out to Drew Rosenhaus, who represents Winston, and so many other former Miami Hurricanes. The other team to express immediate interest apparently was the Texans, who drafted Winston in the third round in 2006. He has been incredibly durable, starting every one of the 96 NFL games scheduled since he became a fulltime starter in 2007.
I have not yet had a chance to watch tape of Winston so I can’t comment on his play right now. I didn’t anticipate the Eagles being interested due to his age. Winston’s agent is Drew Rosenhaus, who is tight with Howie Roseman. It is possible Roseman made the call just to see what kind of deal Winston is looking for rather than to express serious interest. Stay tuned on this one.

This guys shows more heart and emotion in a 3 min video then the eagles did all last year… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3miJDWa3CLM I don’t care if we sign him but I am hoping we do sign a starting tackle because by doing this it would allow us to focus on the Defense the first three rounds of the draft which is needed..

winston at the right price or joeckel/fisher for next season?
Good question. If they’re trying to be as competitive as possible next year then I’d go Winston and picking the best defensive player available with the #4 pick.
It’s no guaranteed that Joeckel or Fisher is left at #4 but your guaranteed of getting one of the top 3 DT’s (Floyd, Richardson, Star), Dion Jordan or Milliner.
He has been durable, the kind of guy who never misses a start, and was at his best in a zone blocking scheme, from what I hear
I think Chip wants to win in 2013, defined by making the playoffs. This seems a good fit if that’s true.
I’m not real sure how I feel about this. I heard a ton of grumbling that their O-line play was pretty bad last season. Perhaps he was a poor fit in their scheme. Though with a terrible QB situation that always complicates things.
I dunno, any time a team can get a 1500 yard rusher you would expect the RT to being doing something right.
Good point on the rush yards… how hard/easy is it to find a breakdown of L vs Middle vs R side runs?
Winston is 29. That means he should still have at least 4 good years in him. Can’t ask for more than that. This move makes a lot of sense to me, if he can bounce back from last year.
But, as of right now, he hasn’t officially been released yet….

Tommy, another great site to gather Eagles info, throw some mud at the barn wall and see if it sticks. Eagle fans are lucky to have Mr. Lawlor following our team.
Don’t need “D. Bell, part 2”. This guy played on line that had real difficulty keeping QB upright. Draft a starter that will stay here 10 years. Move on. Keep $$$ for Defense.
Thank you so much for providing individuals with an extraordinarily superb chance to read in detail from this website. It is often so amazing and also full of a great time for me personally and my office colleagues to search your site at a minimum thrice in 7 days to read the latest secrets you will have. And indeed, I’m just always astounded with the splendid pointers you give. Certain two points in this posting are definitely the very best we have all had.
