Representatives from 20 NFL teams attended San Jose State’s pro day on March 18. The offensive line coach from the Philadelphia Eagles and the defensive line coach from the Oakland Raiders were among those on hand to watch 14 players run outdoors on FieldTurf.
Normally the OL coach being at a school wouldn’t be all that interesting, but SJSU doesn’t have a top OL prospect. They have: Keith Bendixen, a 1-year starter at OG. 6-3, 313. 5.44 in the 40. 26 reps. 8.10 in the 3-cone. David Peterson, who started almost 2 years at Center. 6-4, 295. 5.32. 23 reps. 7.78. Those are hardly great athletes. SJSU does have a really athletic DT. You wonder if the Eagles are interested in him as an OL prospect.
Defensive lineman Travis Raciti (6-foot-3 7/8, 288 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 5.06 and 5.18 seconds. He had a 31 1/2-inch vertical and a 8-foot-10 broad jump. He recorded times of 4.66 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.52 seconds in the three-cone drill. He performed 21 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Raciti had a good workout. His good quickness makes up for his lack of speed and he will likely be a priority free agent this year.
Maybe the Eagles did want to check out the OL. But it wouldn’t shock me if they looked into Raciti as an OL prospect.
