Rick Minter was recently in Toledo, checking out an ILB prospect. This player is late round or UDFA material so don’t get too excited.
The Philadelphia Eagles linebackers coach was among the representatives from 30 NFL teams at Toledo’s pro day Monday. Twenty-three players, most of whom were from small schools in Ohio, worked out indoors on Field Turf.
Linebacker Johnior Sylvestre (5-foot-11 7/8, 233 pounds) from Toledo made a very good impression in his workout, showing his ability to turn and run really well. He ran a 4.57 and 4.59 in the 40. He had a 30 1/2-inch vertical and 9-10 broad jump. He ran a 4.36 short shuttle and 7.10 3-cone drill. And he did 23 strength lifts. Sylvestre has a chance to be a sixth- or seventh-round pick, and could definitely be a priority free agent.
Never hurts to have good ILB depth.
