Donovan Update

Great news from Paul Domowitch:

Donovan never won the Super Bowl, but he was the QB for a decade of great success. Eagles fans hopefully will embrace Donovan as time goes by and his achievements start to stand out more. You know the old saying “sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees”, that seems to be true with McNabb’s time with the Eagles. His issues were so focused on that we didn’t always appreciate the good things he did.

It will also be cool if Donovan’s ceremony does happen when Reid can be on hand. They helped make each other into major NFL success stories.

Still too soon, Donovan. How can we miss you if you won’t go away?!

      Too soon to retire?

McNabb should have retired years ago. It’s just too soon for McNabb to come back to the Linc! In his last appearance in an Eagles uniform he was playing the air guitar and sucking in Dallas (giving Dallas their only playoff win in over a decade). Since he has left the Eagles, he has been openly critical of the team.

Just recently, when the Eagles were looking to hire a new coach, McNabb said the list of Eagles candidates “seems like you’re just grabbing names out of a hat.” He also indicated that it would be “a bad move to bring Chip Kelly here.”

If anything, it’s a classy move on part of the Eagles to let the guy who has been so critical so recently come back and retire. I just think it’s a little too soon for McNabb to come back. That is all.

Time to honor the man. Jaws lost a Super Bowl too and Philly still loves him.
