Some athletes and stars have PR hacks that help run their Twitter accounts. This isn’t a big deal unless something dumb comes out. Check out this tweet from “Donovan McNabb” today.
Could this be the end of Aaron Hernandez NFL career? Your thoughts?
— Donovan McNabb (@donovanjmcnabb) June 26, 2013
That is his account, but no way do I believe that is Donovan. That’s a PR hack trying to generate Twitter activity. You have to seriously wonder if the person is much of a sports fan with that question. Ugh. Heck…how smart are they, period?
Your thoughts? (see what I did there…)
I love the “your thoughts?” part sooo much. As if there’s going to be a debate over whether Hernandez will get another chance to play after executing a guy Frank Nitty-style.
I’d like to give McNabb the benefit of the doubt that he wouldn’t say something so stupid. The guy is unquestionably the best Philadelphia Eagles QB of the Super Bowl era and is a borderline HOFer. He is a HUGE part of why the Eagles of the 2000s were so enjoyably to watch. Unfortunately… McNabb has spewed enough stupidity over the years (and recently) that I really have a hard time taking him seriously now. I can easily believe that was a McNabb tweet.
Twitidiocy? Can we claim this word as our own?
Heck yes.
BTW…here was my Twitter response to Donnie.
26 Jun: @donovanjmcnabb … Honestly, I don’t see how this affects his career. It’s not like he tore an ACL or something serious like that. No biggie.
