Red Zone Success

Let’s look at Nick’s games.

vs DEN – 1 for 1 in late mop-up duty

vs NYG – 1 for 2…played just over half the game

vs TB – 2 for 3

vs DAL – 0 for 1

vs OAK – 4 for 4

Overall, 8 for 11. Take away the Denver TD since that was at the end of a blowout. You still have 7 for 10, or 70 percent. That’s great.

For the season, the Eagles are at 48.15 percent, which ranks them 26th in the league. They were 31st prior to Sunday. Foles is making a difference in the Red Zone. That’s a big argument for him staying the QB.

Tommy, can you explain the discrepancy between your numbers and Nissan’s? Not sure I understand why he has 12 for 15 versus your 8 for 11.

Also, do either of these numbers account for end-of-game situations where we were running down the clock, so not necessarily looking to score? If I remember correctly, at least one drive this season had that situation.

wasn’t the one ‘missed’ RZ opportunity vs TB a different situation? as i recall, we were just running the ball over and over and over trying to take as much time off the clock as possible and then we kicked a field goal. we weren’t trying for a TD as much as we were trying to take as much time as possible and any points that come from that are bonus.

granted, i might be mixing up my plays lol

I remember something similar to that as well. So if you want to take that one out of the equation, it is 7 TDs in 9 attempts in the redzone. Wow.

You forgot the one play he went in for Vick against San Diego.
