Domo Predicts the Lineup

Paul Domowitch predicted the starting lineup now that the draft is in the books.

The 2 biggest surprises…

* Nick Foles over Michael Vick at QB

* No Trent Cole. The OLBs were Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin

I have to admit that it is pretty cool to look at RT and see Lane Johnson listed. Can’t wait to see him in action.

I think he’s right on both counts.

As far as I’m concerned, Vick’s only selling point was the thought that Chip could only run his offense with a mobile QB. Drafting Barkley has not only proven that to be untrue, but it has removed pretty much any chance Vick had of winning this job. It might be an open competition, but it’s going to be won based on accuracy and decision making and I don’t see any way that Mike will beat Foles in those areas. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they try to trade Vick in preseason.

The Cole situation is a little more tricky, but at his age I kinda feel like he’ll be a little less adaptable than Graham when it comes to changing position. He’s certainly got a chance to win the starting job, but I think it’s more likely he ends up as a rotational guy/nickel DE.

Nothing will tell the team that the old pecking order is gone and Chip only values what he sees you doing for him and not what you did last year faster than benching/cutting Vick and Cole.

I’m more inclined to keep Mathis on the left side with Peters.
