Eagles Looking for ILB Depth

Per this report, the Eagles had a scout at Iowa State’s Pro Day and his focus was their pair of star LBs, AJ Kein and Jake Knott.

Both players had terrific college careers.  Klein played in the Shrine Game.  Knott got hurt in the season and wasn’t able to play in an all star game.  Klein is 6-2, 246.  Knott is 6-2, 241.  No official results in yet from the Pro Day.

Knott is the player I like better.  He had 8 INTs and 10 FFs in his career.  Also had more solo tackles between the two of them.  Neither guy is a great run stuffer.  Both are best when kept clean and allowed to fly to the ball.  Klein is probably a 4th round type.  Not sure of Knott’s value.

Both guys would come in to challenge for backup roles at ILB.  Jamar Chaney and Casey Matthews aren’t sure things.  Jason Phillips was added, but more depth would be good.
