Draft Meetings Update

Per Aaron Wilson, the Eagles had a private workout with OT Patrick Ford of Eastern Kentucky.  Ford was the LT for the last 2 years.  He played OG in 2010.  He is a terrific run blocker and solid pass protector. Very fun player to watch.  He appears to be a late round prospect.

Per Adam Caplan, the Eagles brought in Tennessee OL Dallas Thomas for a visit.  Thomas was a LT in 2010 and 2011. He slid inside to LG for 2012. I think Thomas will be a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Notice a pattern? The Eagles are interested in versatile OL.

The Eagles seem to be interested in versatile players period. Have we looked at any S/LB hybrids yet?

Look at Alabama Center Barrett Jones. He’s tall, played all over the line at Alabama and, as a result, played for the new Eagles line coach. Very versatile, highest level of college competition, can back-up Kelce, Mathis and Herremans. Won the Campbell Trophy as the best Scholar-Athlete in the nation. So he is smart, teachable and willing to help the team at any position. He would be an excellent get, and might be available as late as the third-round. If he’s there, the Birds should grab him, allowing them to focus on defense in the first two rounds.
