Tony Gonzalez, Eagles TE?

Jay Glazer, the most trustworthy NFL insider, shared an interesting nugget on WFAN the other day. During the 2008 season, the Eagles had a deal in place for Tony Gonzalez. They were going to ship a 3rd round pick and a player to KC for him. At the last minute, the Chiefs decided to hold out for a 2nd rounder.

KC ended up dealing Gonzo to the Falcons for a 2nd round pick in the offseason. The Eagles kept their 2nd rounder and used it on some guy named LeSean McCoy.

Jimmy Bama has a few more details on the story.
